WEB DESIGN PROCESS

This is the standard design process for building a website.

Stage 1 – Brief: An initial meeting to discuss what you want from your web site. I can suggest ideas and options that will meet your objectives. You will be advised on costs and time will be spent with you to get the brief right. I can help you with setting up hosting for your site and registering your domain name. As this stage is a ‘thinking process’ it is not generally charged for.

Stage 2 – Design: Consultation about the look and feel of the site, this can be done to link in with a logo or company colour scheme. If you don’t already have a logo I am more than happy to give your company it’s all important ‘branding’.

Stage 3 – Build: At this point the site will be built, you will need to provide all the content for the web site, all text, images and logos must be submitted in electronic form (.txt .jpg & .gif are preferred). You will be kept up to date with progress and any additional information or contact that may be required.

Stage 4 – Testing: The website will be tested on different internet browsers and different screen sizes to make sure it is viewed consistently. All functioning aspects of the site will be tested. The site will be presented for your approval and on approval will be put live on the internet. You will then be invoiced on completion.

Stage 5 – Maintenance: If your web site needs maintaining or updating, an agreement can be drawn up, this is individual to each circumstance and is generally paid on an hourly basis. Otherwise if you feel confident with using a Content Management System (CMS) then one can be installed, allowing you to make your own edits. Of course we can be on hand to help with the more complex jobs like, for instance, software updates.
